Art for both sides

The collaged photographic imagery with scenes of soothing water and cloudscapes performs a service of beautifying and uplifting the space both inside and outside the village, while retaining villagers’ rights to their own private space. In designing the privacy screen, Dana considered how the challenge of houselessness is not an isolated one, and people experiencing houselessness and poverty should not be categorized as a community separate from those who are housed.

In her words, “At its best, we collectively experience the transformative power of artmaking, and that empowers me to continue.”
