C(3)PO Coalition

In April Gather:Make:Shelter joined with twelve other local organizations and two government offices to support our unhoused community with the opening of three shelter-in-place sanctioned camps in Portland, collectively referred to as Creating Conscious Communities with People Outside, or C(3)PO.

To help new residents settle into the camps, Dana designed Ripple Effect, privacy screens to surround their living space.

At another C(3)PO village, volunteers helped paint the existing fence line to make it feel more homey.

Since March the villages have grown to shelter 150 people in three villages, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Blended.
