The Murals Project

GMS completed two new murals in town for villages that will shelter people experiencing houselessness. The largest new village, Menlo Park wis run by our partner Cultivate Initiatives houses up to 60 people. And the smallest new village in town, with our partner WeShine, houses up to 12 people. A huge thanks to  Portland Youth Builders and Tivnu for helping bring these projects to life.

Creating Community

Execution of “The Enchanted Forrest Murals “ wrap the largest new safe rest village in SE Portland run by our amazing partner Cultivate Initiatives. This giantic work of art is inspired by the natural and magical environment of the Pacific NW and designed by the Gather:Make:Shelter Collective! Our intention with this project is to reverse the notion of Joni Mitchell’s famous lyrics, “They paved paradise / put up a parking lot” by creating paradise on a former parking lot that will bring joy and hope to the residents and neighborhood of Menlo Park.
