WeShine Avalon Mural

Throughout 2024 and 2025, Gather:Make:Shelter has partnered with WeShine’s new Avalon village in SE Portland to create an expansive mural throughout the village. The Avalon Village is a tiny home village dedicated to providing supportive housing for women and children experiencing houselessness.

Throughout 2024, Gather:Make:Shelter has been in the process of designing and painting  a mural for the villages. GMS artists Violet and Feara have been the lead mural designers creating a beautiful motif that weaves throughout the entire village. The project will be completed in the warm months of 2025 with painted wooden cutouts added to the mural to create a three dimensional aspect to the artwork.

It's truly been a team effort of volunteers, GMS artists, and community members to make this mural come to life. We couldn't be more grateful for WeShine, our partner organization, for making this collaboration possible.
