Prism Queer Collective Fashion Show

The Prism Queer Collective Fashion show was first inspired by GMS participant Starburst, who is passionate about sharing her creativity through fashion and makeup. When asked what her wildest dream would be, she responded, “A fashion show showcasing the beauty and spirit of all of my queer and trans friends!” .... and thus, the fashion show was sparked!

We worked on our fashion show, à la Project Runway, for over a year, with 30+ villagers, artists, and other community members collaborating to ultimately produce PRISM: A Queer Collective—an event we presented to an audience of hundreds at the Pride NW festival in June of 2022. In the end, over thirty artists, seamsters, models, makeup artists, and lighting and stage designers participated in bringing the show to life.
