The Connection Project 2023
The Connection Project will launch on October 31 ,2023!! The Connection Project offers handmade bowls by local ceramic artists that have been hand-painted by Gather:Make:Shelter Participants. Each Wednesday and Friday from October through December GMS Project Participants will have the opportunity to come to the GMS studio, eat lunch together, paint and bowl, and receive a stipend for their bowl. The resulting artworks will be sold throughout the holiday season at GMS to raise money for future projects.
The Connection Project gives you an opportunity to celebrate your relationships through the gift of handmade objects. Linking potter to painter to giver to receiver, each unique handcrafted bowl creates new human networks and spreads delight.
First introduced in 2021, The Connection Project offers a limited series of handcrafted bowls in black and white, made with love by artists experiencing houselessness and poverty. You can purchase your bowls online until December 1st and in person at GMS Headquarters until the end of the year.
The Connection Project is a labor of love from start to finish - beginning with the potters who made and kiln-fired the finished pieces. Our deepest thanks for Pacific Northwest College of Art/Willamette University, The Oregon Potters Association, Georgie’s Ceramic Supply Co, Lisa Conway, Chuck Masio, James Houghton and the many other ceramic artists who donated their time and talents to make this project possible!
