Gather:Make:Shelter in 2020
COVID-19 posed a serious risk to the most vulnerable among us and Gather:Make:Shelter rose to the occasion. While we needed to reschedule our planned activities due to the pandemic, we pivoted quickly to opportunities which created new collaborations in our community.
In 2020, we…
Ran a lightning fundraiser to support our Academy members
Joined the C(3)PO coalition to build and run three shelter-in-place camps during the pandemic
Founded a gardening program with Martha Koerner and Cirrus Nursery
Collaborated with Hygiene4All on a community hygiene hub
Organized a distributed community project for Portland Textile Month
Received a Light A Fire Award from Portland Monthly
Dedicated a new headquarters in the Pearl District courtesy of Killian Pacific
Hosted our first exhibition at our new headquarters, ART FROM THE VILLAGES
Celebrated two of our artists receiving Precipice Awards by PICA
Looking Forward to 2021!
Coming up next…
We’re building relationships with local businesses and our new neighbors and encouraging their participation
