Exhibitions

We offer the opportunity for unhoused artists to sell and exhibit their artwork in professional art galleries on and offsite, providing public spaces for their creative voices to contribute to Portland’s community. With our gallery located in the heart of The Pearl District in downtown Portland, Gather:Make:Shelter’s artists have the opportunity to participate in Portland’s vibrant art scene.

Each year Gather:Make:Shelter presents 6-10 exhibitions at in our gallery space as well as satellite shows at partner galleries. These professional group and solo exhibitions are the culmination of months or years of dedicated work and draw many attendees. Exhibiting artists include participants in workshops and village projects as well as members of the GMS Collective, a group of 7-12 participants who have committed to their art practice and ongoing mentorship. Exhibition opening events include poetry readings, performances, artist talks and publication launches for book projects.
