Camp Colton Summer Camp

In the summer of 2024 in collaboration with Camp Colton & Stelo Arts, Gather:Make:Shelter was able to offer our first-ever summer camp for Gather:Make:Shelter participants! GMS Summer Camp: Alchemy in the Woods entailed a 4-day/3-night retreat for participants of Gather:Make:Shelter to experience a blend of creative workshops and outdoor activities designed to foster connection, well-being, and creativity. The experience Included activities like storytelling by the fire, mark-making workshops, yoga, meditation, canoeing and nature engagements. This extended opportunity allowed our artists a sustained escape from the daily stress and stigma that often accompanies their circumstances in the city. Camp Colton provided the perfect space for GMS participants to connect with nature, creativity, and one another.

Gather:Make:Shelter was honored to partner with Stelo & Camp Colton for this opportunity as part of the Space To Share: Camp Colton program.
